Sohia Harlow is curious…..
Numerically, its now 4 years since I first arrived with a crash into this virtual world.
Back then, I had a Pentium III, on board graphics, 500 mb RAM and an ADSL connection. I came to Secondlife via a yahoo chat group – I had been a chat junkie for years and years and years. Numbers peaked at 13,000 on Saturday nights, I had voice capability from day 1 via a Ventrilo group, everyone and their parents investigated free sex clubs, I crashed every 5 minutes on schedule, and maxed out an fps of 4. I watched the Dutch and German influx, then the British, the rest of the Europeans, then the Australians, New Zealanders, South Americans, Chinese, Japanese and all the while more and more Americans. It was a global experience that I loved. I managed to persevere for 2 years (!) with this computer equipment, then used my SL earnings to buy a dual core pc with 4 GB RAM, an LCD 24″ screen and an Nvidia GTX 260 graphics card. My fps usually hovers around 40 and goes up to 70 depending where I am. SLIfe is good! I also now have an excellent quality fibre optic cable connection.
The photographs below show that I have changed somewhat. The photo on the left was taken by me in 2006 – I am wearing Cake hair, early Gala (Curio) skin, and a dress that I cannot remember. My shape was called Athena, made by someone who is no longer in world. It was tall and very bosomy.
I changed a LOT in the intervenng years, and I now have a slight built tall shape that I made myself. It is the only thing I have ever made. The photograph on the right I took just 30 minutes ago. I am wearing hair from Gritty Kitty, skin from Ugly Duck, T Shirt from Nouveau Miranda, lashes from Miamai.
I have great faith in the future of virtual worlds, and Secondlife in particular. I find the future to be exciting and the possibilities endless. I plan to stick around for a long time.
I do miss the many people I have known who have moved on from this environment. I also feel especially blessed to have had the opportunity to meet and get to know so many people from around the world. Please stay around, and say ‘hi’ to me in world!

My further wanderings through the Jewelry Fair 2009 lured me back yet again to what was for me, the ‘piece de resistance’ of the entire Fair. My friend Geof Graves accompanied me and endured my painful longings for this Maritza set that he generously chipped in and bought it for me. Thank you Geof!

The divinely crafted jewellry from Caliah Lyon of Muse is available at Jewelry Fair 2009. This set is Meulsine:
