thank you

A few weeks back, I wrote a post about the death of my son, Jesse.

Since then, I have travelled to Australia and buried him, and returned to New Zealand and to a small degree, SecondLife.

The purpose of this post is to say thank you for the very many messages I received: some from friends, many from strangers, but all of them were an outpouring of love and support which quite overwhelmed me. I showed my family the comments on the previous post, and they too were touched by the responses of the people who commented there.

From all of us, thank you

In The Summertime

The weather is high

In The Summertime

you can stretch right up and touch the sky

In The Summertime

When the weather’s fine we’re always happy

In The Summertime

life’s for living, yeah, that’s our philosophy

In The Summertime

Lyrics from ‘In The Summertime’ by Mungo Jerry

When the deep purple falls over sleepy garden walls

Deep Purple Haze

And the stars begin to flicker in the sky

Deep Purple Haze

Through the mist of a memory you wander back to me

Deep Purple Haze

Breathing my name with a sigh

Deep Purple Haze

In the still of the night once again I hold you tight
Though you’re gone, your love lives on when moonlight beams

Deep Purple Haze

And as long as my heart will beat, lover we’ll always meet

Deep Purple Haze

Here in my deep purple dreams

Deep Purple Haze

Lyrics from Deep Purple
Words by Mitchell Parish, music by Peter De Rose
Written in 1934 as a piano composition – lyrics added in 1939

It’s almost summer
And I can almost feel that sweet sunshine
Pourin’ out this heart of mine

As summer in the southern hemisphere slowly turns to autumn, its time to welcome the turning season in the north. For this post, I am sharing an Australian summer theme and song, which for me sums up well the summers of my childhood.

It's Almost Summer

Yes it’s almost summer
And I will spend each week day slowly fryin’
I can’t wait, I can’t wait for the summertime

**Song Title (theme of this post), lyrics and video is from William Richard “Billy” Thorpe,AM (29 March 1946 – 28 February 2007), a greatly loved and missed Australian musician.**

From a rugged field far away, i hear the gentle baaaaaaaing of sheep, calling me back to a place I know…

I Hear the Sheep Call My Name

The two has become three! Empress & Hierophant has gained a sister sim, Inis Caiseal

I fly to the sheep, and land at their feet, hitting the ground running. They appear to be only slightly peeved

I Hear the Sheep Call My Name

I Hear the Sheep Call My Name

We talk and talk, about changes that have ocurred and those that are yet to come. We talk as the sun goes down and day changes to night. Quoting directly from the creators, I am told

“I want to share the direction I am going in my builds because I welcome feedback directly. In the future I plan on adding a country pub, alongside a historical castle which I will use as my retail storefront. I plan on specialising in prefabs and building in a rustic country manner. The pub will likely be called “Three Sheeps to the Wynd”. This is mainly because I love the sheep and want them to have a humourous presence on the sim as they have on Empress. Haggis is not served in the pub.

Alchemy and I also want to sponser celtic folk artists in the future in the pub and in the centre of the new standing stone ring on Inis Caiseal. We’re interested in traditional session style events. If you can play fiddle, tin whistle, bodhran, and/or sing traditional folk songs please contact AlchemyImmortalis Cyannis. That is our joint business account and by archiving business related notecards and IMs there, it helps us organise better. Thank you”

I Hear the Sheep Call My Name

I receive quite a lecture from the Grand Dame sheep because of my infrequent visits in recent times, however I promise this will change

I Hear the Sheep Call My Name

she gently reminds me of the beauty here

I Hear the Sheep Call My Name

There’s nothing quite like a remote cottage upon sunset

I Hear the Sheep Call My Name

I am forgiven by all the sheep concerned, and bid a fond farewell, with a promise to return soooon

Despite the time I spent people watching at the opening of the new Tableau today, I did in fact manage to get in a spot of shopping. True to form, these new designs from Paper Couture, Clawtooth, Kenzie & Co, Tres Blah and others that I need to go back to investigate further, are vibrant, luxuriously textured, elegant, finely finished and refreshing. Shall we see?

This first look is casual: I’ve teamed the short crop top from Kenzie & Co with the Shark cardy from Tres Blah. The skirt is from SMS and the shoes are C.Edo from Truth.

One of the best things about going to collaborative events, is in the discoveries you make. New designers, designers new to you, ideas, concepts, the “oh wow I didn’t know you could do that!” moments, and of course the opportunity to meet new people.

I made a number of discoveries at DU 3 which quite thrilled me. Here we go with Oyakin:

Designers I Found From Going to DU3

Skirt and jacket sold seperately, and available in a range of colours.

And a song for you (yes its a kiwi singer):

In my part of the world it is Christmas Day. If you do not subscribe to religious practice on this day, you may like to consider it a day for forgiveness, love, compassion, joy and faith in humanity, as I do.

The lovely Wisp Jinn of Wishbox has given a beautiful gift to her group:

*~Wishes~*

To open the gift, you hold the jewelled chest, an art piece in itself

*~Wishes~*

The dress is exquisite, as is all of Wisp’s work

*~Wishes~*

I will be dining tonight with friends and making numerous international phone calls as part of my Christmas day

*~Wishes~*

Thank you to all those people during the year who have read my scribblings and viewed my photos. This blog has given me great pleasure to put together, and has given me the opportunity to meet many talented and unique people. And ordinary people too, like me! Have a safe and loved holiday season, my friends!
